This week marks the beginning of Imagine That’s college internship program – a component to our learning series and emphasis on education. We are happy to welcome Meckenzie Donnell to our team as our very first intern!
Meckenzie is currently a junior at Colorado Mountain College where she takes classes at the Breckenridge campus. Originally born and raised in Parker, she decided to relocate to Summit County after spending much of her childhood exploring the Rocky Mountains.
In fact, it was snowboarding and horseback riding that persuaded her to make the move to higher altitudes. Meckenzie spent her high school career as an athlete on the Winter Park snowboard team. During the off-season, she spent her days taking care of three horses and riding her favorite, Skip, at the Colorado Horse Park located in her hometown.
Meckenzie said her first priority upon graduating high school was rushing up to the mountains – where she has been for nearly five years. In addition to avid snowboarding in the winter and fishing in the summer, Meckenzie is focusing on completing her undergraduate education at CMC. She is currently working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Business with an emphasis in marketing.
The prospect of a mere four-year degree, however, wasn’t enough to satisfy Meckenzie’s thirst for more knowledge. Beyond a B.A. in Business, she is in the process of obtainin four certifications from CMC: Digital Marketing; Mass Media; Web Design and Graphic design.
Meckenzie’s studies are focused in website designing and Search Engine Optimization, including intensive coursework in photo and print journalism, Adobe Creative Cloud programs, web design, public relations and computer science. She plans on staying in Summit County after graduation and pursuing a career in online marketing.
As our Digital Marketing intern, Meckenzie brings her passion and education to our team, helping implement quality content and SEO into our clients marketing plans. As a Summit County local, she provides valuable insight into the world of Colorado web design – a crucial element to positioning clients in the local market.
“My goal is to make a meaningful contribution to the Imagine That team,” Meckenzie said. “I hope to work in field of digital marketing someday soon, and I’ve found that internships are one of the best ways to gain applied experience.”
We are excited about Meckenzie’s stint in our offices, and we hope she gains as much from her experience with us as we do from her hard work.
