Imagine That is proud to announce the addition of Emily Burchell as our newest team member in the role of Website/Graphic Designer.
Prior to joining the Imagine That team, Emily developed a graphic design accelerated technology pathway for at-risk youth in Denver, Colorado. Five years of freelance graphic design and photography, along with ski instruction, and property management provides great experience for Imagine That’s work in our busy tourist communities.
Education
Emily earned her degree in fine arts from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis with a focus on digital photography and drawing. Building on her passion for visual art and communication, Emily continued her graduate studies at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), where she focused specifically on Graphic and Web Design.
Background and Interests
Emily is from a small, historic mining town called Ironwood located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan along the south coast of Lake Superior. In her free time, she is most often found traveling the world and exploring mother nature with her one-eyed dog, Franklin, and friends. Witnesses have also spotted her shredding alpine slopes on her powder stick, creating artwork, and participating in the local bowling community. Her favorite things to spend money on are travel, experiences, and art supplies.
To get additional Emily-style insight, we asked a few less traditional interview questions:
Q. What’s your favorite emoji?
A. My favorite emoji is the splashing whale, because life is a beach and I like to play outside!
Q. With whom in the world would you most like to share a meal with?
A. I would most like to share a meal with all my extended family members, including those I haven’t had the privilege to meet in the current century.
Q. If money were no object, what would you do with your life?
A. If money were no object, I would travel the world on a yacht, designing graphics remotely for snow and surf culture companies, while planning and hosting large scale non-profit events to provide safe water solutions to cultures at risk.
Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. I wanted to be an Art Director for Burton Snowboards when I grew up… not much has changed.
Q. What cheers you up?
A. All I need is a little fresh air and sunshine on my face to cheer up!
Emily has already contributed her sunny disposition to the culture of Imagine That, and dove in quickly supporting our clients’ website, graphic design, and creative projects.
We are super excited to have her skills and talents as part of our Imagine That family!
