Wilderness Church Gets a Virtual Makeover

Imagine That recently completed a website redesign project for Wilderness Church out of Pinedale, Wyoming. Since the congregation is made up of many young locals and active folks working in the logging and oil industries, the leaders at Wilderness Church knew they had to have a website that would keep their congregation informed and connected no matter how far from home they were. Imagine That gladly accepted the challenge!

2013-06-17_1502

Working closely with Duke, the head pastor, Imagine That completely redesigned the church’s website including custom design, blog integration and customized social media accounts. Knowing their congregation and local community were avid outdoor enthusiasts, Imagine That designers developed a website that evokes beautiful images of the Wyoming country. With so many members constantly on the go, Wilderness Church needed an easy way to keep them all updated with the latest news and events. Integrating a blog and calendar were effective solutions. Training from Imagine That allowed Duke and others from the church to learn how to easily manage their blog by adding great stories and messages and how to keep their calendar up-to-date with events and scheduled classes.

Developing a cohesive church message throughout their online portfolio was important to Wilderness Church. Imagine That created customized social media accounts so whether their members are commenting on Facebook or reading their blog, they always feel informed and like they belong. Speaking of being informed, how can members of Wilderness Church stay linked if they’re on the road? The answer is, with Spreaker! Imagine That set Wilderness Church up with an awesome broadcasting solution so they can stream sermons or podcasts anytime they’d like. You can catch their sermon streaming LIVE every Sunday at 10:30am.

Working with Duke and Wilderness Church was a lot of fun. We are thrilled they now have an online solution that will help them communicate with their members easily and keep their congregation connected to one another. We’re excited to see how they grow and utilize technology to meet their goals!

High Performance Websites

At the beginning of October Imagine That were approached to put together a presentation for the Summit 70 Small Business Club. The Summit 70 Club is a great Summit County organization that host small business networking events and professional development meetings to help local  entrepreneurs  harness the power of connections, creativity and innovation to take their businesses to the next level. To find out more check out: Lake Dillon Theatre Small Business.

Here at Imagine That we love Small Businesses and startups partly because we still consider ourselves to be part of that brotherhood but mainly because we know that Colorado runs on small business’. According to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce 97% of all employing businesses in Colorado are classified as small businesses. This is an incredible recommendation for the spirit of ingenuity and can do attitude in the Rocky Mountain State.

It is for this reason we are always delighted to help grow small businesses in our State and County. Obviously the best way for us to help is to be hired as you official digital marketing company and create a fully integrated cross platform strategy including SEO, Custom Website, Mobile Website and/or App and supported by a Social Media Strategy. If you are simply unable to budget for this sort of plan at present we still care about you and your business.

The presentation we put together for the Summit 70 club was crafted to give tips and advice to those businesses who recognixe the importance of  Online Marketing and wish to learn enough to get started on their own.  The running order of our presentation was: Branding Your Business Online – Define Your Brand, More Than a Logo, Brand Consistency, Brand Message. Design Best Practices for High Performing Websites – Usability, Conversions, Content Management, Growth of Mobile. Integrated Digital Marketing Strategy – SEO, Content Development, SEM, Social Media Marketing.

Overall we had an engaged audience with a pretty extensive question and answer format throughout. The presentation led to several new leads and even requests for us to present more regularly. The most rewarding thing was that a number of audience members came up at the end to tell us that the presentation really helped them understand how important SEO was or had a better grip on implementing a Social Media strategy for their business.

Imagine That Teambuilding at Aspen Canyon Ranch

Jul16

Imagine That Team7th July 2012

The Imagine That team spent last Saturday at our teambuilding event at Aspen Canyon Ranch. Teambuilding is vital for any company big or small. Getting to know your co workers outside of work and forming tight relationships allows you to improve your collaboration on team projects.

Here at Imagine That we value our team ethos very highly and can point to it as being the most important element to our continued success. This is in part down to teambuilding activities like last Saturday at Aspen Canyon Ranch.

Imagine That Team at Aspen Canyon Ranch

The team met down at the Ranch early on a sunny Colorado morn. The Ranch is nestled between the Rockies about 26 miles from Silverthorne Colorado and is home to horseback riding, fly-fishing, ATVing, Skeet Shooting, Rafting and Hunting.

After a brief but hard fought Table Tennis battle between the Big Cheez and the Shamrock Kid (which Ireland won) we had our growth strategy meeting in the authentic Western Lodge to discuss our continued growth in the front range.

Imagine That Foozeball Tourney at the Lodge

After the meeting concluded it was time to saddle up! The Imagine That team assembled at the stables to saddle their mounts for the winding mountain trail. Our excellent guide John led the team up a narrow winding trail through the forest and to the summit of the peak over looking the ranch.

Imagine That Horse Riding Aspen Canyon Ranch

The horses were very well trained although our Web Wizard Jeff Mcelhattan’s horse Ice had a strong temperament and didn’t like being passed! Jeff’s daughter Ivy was riding for the first time and was a natural falling in love with her placid mount named Kansas.

After trekking up mountains, through forests and forging rivers the Imagine That team were ravenous and we tucked in to delicious cheeseburgers and veggie burgers back down at the lodge.

Imagine That wranglers crossing the river at Aspen Canyon

After lunch it was time to ride something with slightly more “horsepower” (pun intended) with Polaris ATV’s being the vehicle of choice. Aspen Canyon have miles of trails stretching up through the mountain passes and it is an exhilarating experience to fly through the Colorado wilderness on their state of the art 4 wheelers. The guides at Aspen Canyon supplied us with wet gear and helmets and we set out to discover the Colorado back country in our ATV convoy. Yvette Wendy and Helena took to the ATVing instantly and were the most disappointed when the torrential downpour meant we had to turn back early!

The day was ended with a team dinner of Teppanyaki at the local Japanese restaurant. We would like to thank Ryan and the team at Aspen Canyon Ranch for the great hospitality and reiterate that everyone of the team had an amazing time!

What is Pinterest?

Jun25
2012
Written by Tom Fellner

What is Pinterest and how can I use it to benefit my business? Pinterest is a
pinboard-style social photo sharing website created to allow members to create and manage image pinboards based on their various themes and interests such as movies, clothes, hobbies etc. Users can browse each other’s pinboards, ‘re-pin’ images to their own boards and ‘like’ photos on other users boards.

The growth of Pinterest has been phenomenal, after its launch in 2010 it was the fastest site to hit the 10 million unique visitor mark taking only 22 months. Pinterest has recently won the 2012 Webby award for best social media app for their iPhone and iPad apps and are rumored to be about to launch an Android version in the coming days.

Pinterest can work in several different ways depending on the nature of your business but the four main benefits are: Driving Traffic, Creating Warm Leads, Building Links and Increasing Social Sharing.

Due to the visual nature of Pinterest eye-catching images that include website links refer huge volumes of traffic to websites and blogs. In October, the website of Time Inc.’s real Simple magazine got more traffic from Pinterest than Facebook.

Leads from Pinterest tend to be more profitable for companies than Amazon Google and Facebook with an average purchase value of $80 compared to Facebook’s $40.

Links created through visitors using the “pin it” button on any of your pages allow new pinners to discover your site and share your content on their own boards. You can also include links in the descriptions of each pin that improve your SEO.

Pinterest is connected to both Twitter and Facebook allowing pinners to share their pins, boards and interests across multiple pages. Officially Pinterest is not connected to Facebook Brand Pages but through using the Pinterest Tab app by Woolbox on Facebook you can share your business pins on your brand page.

The demographics of Pinterest users are interesting as they vary from country to country but in the USA the most active users are Females accounting for 80% with the majority of these being in the 25-54 age group with a household income of between $25000 and $75000.

Pinterest is all about indirect marketing. Build boards that spark people’s interest and indirectly market your company. If your products are well suited to Pinterest like clothes, animation, DIY or furniture then you can build very engaging boards around themes such as “my favorite spring outfit” or “our new kitchen”. However more functional service providing companies can also create infographics, pin employee activities, create review boards of movies/books/plays and create boards around related interest topics to demonstrate the personality of your brand. With companies like Shopinterest in the pipeline which intend to turn Pinterest into a storefront it is important for every business to create and run their own Pinterest campaign.

Well I had the opportunity last week to attend the “Pick Yourself” Seth Godin Conference in New York. What an amazing week it was hanging out with my buddy Erik Ulstad from Cold Smoke Cargo in the Big Apple. We met so many interesting and inspiring people and learned some great concepts from Mr. Godin. If you haven’t already, check out Seth’s many books on marketing, entrepreneurship and the new economy. Seth’s ideas have certainly inspired the Imagine That team, and we’re sure they will inspire you in your business endeavors as well!

What is Marketing?

Imagine That Marketing

Marketing is defined by the American Marketing Association as “the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.” Marketing is used to identify the consumers needs and wants and to appeal to them with targeted campaigns through a variety of different channels. Digital Marketing involves utilizing all of the available online channels such as Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing and Social Media Marketing to promote a marketing message. Online Marketing is becoming more and more and more popular and in 2012 is expected to surpass print marketing spend. A recent  eMarketer study claims that online advertising is expected to generate $39.5 billion in sales this year compared to a sum of $33.8 billion on print.  The 2 most  important differences are the measurability of digital marketing with each click and view tracked and the relatively low cost compared to traditional marketing channels.

What is a Blog?

Imagine That Blog

The term blog evolved from web log which was a personal journal published on the web consisting of a series of posts typically displayed in reverse chronological order so the most recent post appears first. Blogs can be the work of an individual, group, or more recently a business or corporation. Blogs often have a specific theme or topic  and have become the most common way of sharing information, interests, ideas and beliefs on the web. Easy to use, free sites such as WordPress, Blogger and Tumblr have made blogging available to anyone with an idea or a penchant for writing. Whole business models have been built around blogs such as Mashable, Techcrunch and CopyBlogger. It has also become a really important tool for SEO generating a significant number of links and utilising the principles of blended and social searching to improve search engine rankings for linked websites.Blogs are also important from a digital marketing perspective as it allows businesses to connect with consumers and convey information in a more informal arena. Blogging is gradually replacing traditional news sources as the most common way to find information.

What is LinkedIn?

LinkedInLinkedIn is a business networking website with over 135 million members worldwide. It was founded in 2003 and has grown into a huge networking and recruitment resource for professionals and corporations alike. LinkedIn allows users to create an online profile that lists their experience previous work, education, interests and hobbies. Users can also upload their resume and integrate their Twitter, Blog and RSS feeds.  LinkedIn is about growing your personal network and unlike Facebook and Twitter users can only add people they know, have worked with or have connections in common with. LinkedIn is now recognised as the most powerful networking and job seeking tool online. Businesses use LinkedIn to advertise jobs and find suitable employees while individuals can increase their LinkedIn reputation by contributing to discussion groups on a variety of topics.

What is Google Plus?

Google +Google Plus is Google’s answer to social networking. It was released in July 2011 and currently has approximately 90 million users. Google Plus’ initial selling point was the ability for members to arrange their connections into various circles meaning they could share different content with different people e.g. circles for friends, family, colleagues. The main draw for Google Plus users is the fact that Google are gradually integrating all of their other services into the social network. YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Blogger, Google Alerts and more are gradually being included in the social network while Google search has been revamped to include Google Plus results. With Search Plus users can now view search results from their G+ network when searching for a keyword term. They can also “plus 1” a search result or website as a social recommendation to other users that this is a worthy site or result. Businesses should also have a presence on Google Plus as it is emerging as yet another way to connect with customers and potential leads.

This is the first of many blog posts under this topic. We all know that we had to start out somewhere on the web. There was a day when we didn’t know the difference between the Internet and the Web, what SEO stands for or  how to use Twitter. This blog topic will be for those people looking for a quick answer without the embarrassment of asking.

Web Explained

What is the Web?

The World Wide Web is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet. Simply put each website is a folder hosted on a computer server and each page on the website is a file in this folder. Each of these files has a specific address on the web which is known as the URL that allows users to access the pages through their web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer. With a web browser users can access web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia and navigate between them via hyperlinks.

What is the Internet?

The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. It is a network of networks that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies. The Internet is the hardware infrastructure on which the World Wide Web can operate by linking hypertext documents. It also underpins services such as email and more recently communications media including telephone, music, film, and television.
